It all started when…
What made you decide to pursue your specific career/was it difficult making that choice?
It started with the adventures me and my friends would go on. We would just record clips so we could re-watch it later. Then I started adding music... then I started adding transitions... and as we kept going on trips I just kept practicing and I fell in love with it. So I always enjoyed it, it’s never difficult to decide on what you love.
Who motivates you as far as your career and general drive in your daily routine?
My family. I know it sounds cliche but they always let me explore my interests in life instead of confining me in a small box. I know a lot of parents want what’s best for their kids by pressuring them into fields that they probably don’t have any interests in. But, from the freedom my family gave me, I was able to find my passion in this.
Did you attend university/are you currently and what was the journey post-secondary that led you to where you are today?
I currently go to City University of New York to study to be an Electrical Engineer. I always took school seriously, I think it’s important to balance what you NEED to do and what you WANT to do. I also love what I am studying, so I don’t have a problem with either career I end up with.
Any message to the youth or even adults that are shying away from pursuing their passion/life choices?
The only person stopping you from your dream, is you. a lot of people don’t end up pursuing what they are passionate because they’re scared. they’re scared what people will think, they’re scared about money, they’re scared about failure. but when you fail, that’s when you learn. and learning is the most important thing in life. learning isn’t just in school, it’s everyday in your life.
What are some lessons you’ve learned to date?
I’ve learned a lot of lessons throughout the years, but the most important one that always stuck with me is never be afraid. all of my mistakes were because of fear. cause when you live with fear, you’re not living.
