Our Story
How it all started
Nineteen59 Community is registered non-profit organization. Our organization focuses on enriching the Tibetan identity and culture preservation through education, arts and community development.
At Nineteen59, we bring awareness in the lens of fashion that promote the core values and message of oneness and awareness of the Tibetan identity, our work includes the involvement of young Tibetan creators and artists who aspire to create impact and develop within the creative field.
Purchased items cycle back into our work with goals to develop social programs and initiatives in the Tibetan community. Over the years we have had the great privilege to mobilize youth and elders in our community to hold space for dialogue, to bridge our generational gaps and bring collective community action. Our work continues to empower community members through workshops, networking events, creative activities, collaborations, outings, and mobilizing to create safe spaces.
Nineteen59 community focuses on creating online educational resources, giving platforms to young creative artists, and bridging together youth and elders aiming to fill the generational gaps in our community. We believe now is a critical time to pave paths for our community members and younger generations.
We believe that we can grow together through shared experiences and exchanges of knowledge.

Philosophy
Nineteen59 serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing need to bring Tibet and the Tibetan movement to the forefront of global conversations. Inspired by the significance of this year in Tibetan history, we are committed to fostering identity, creativity, and education within our community. Our mission is to motivate and inspire Tibetans to reconnect with their roots while pursuing their aspirations.
Our Impact
Looking ahead, we aim to create more opportunities for the younger generation, supporting initiatives that uplift and empower those in need worldwide. We continuously strive to produce meaningful content and high-quality products for our supporters.
At Nineteen59, we reinvest our profits into collaborative initiatives that provide a platform for Tibetan youth to showcase their artistic talents. Some of our key projects include:

Ninetteen59 Worldwide Collection (2022) – A global collaboration featuring 10 talented young Tibetan artists.
Nineteen59 Silent genocide collection(2023) - Standing in solidarity
Nineteen59 Rooted in movement (2025)
Art Competitions – Encouraging Tibetan students to explore the theme of "What it means to be Tibetan," leading to the recognition of over 25 Tibetan artists worldwide.
Intergenerational Initiatives – Organizing three annual trips for Tibetan youth and elders (Popola and Momola) to foster meaningful connections.
Community Initiatives
In 2021, we launched "Better Together," an initiative promoting unity and collective action. During the pandemic, this project supported charitable organizations, including a collaboration with the Tibetan Cancer Society, through which we donated over $1,000 CAD.
That same year, we achieved another milestone through the Canada Summer Jobs grant, enabling us to employ 14 Tibetan youth. These individuals played a crucial role in organizing community-driven projects, gaining hands-on experience in leadership, event planning, and advocacy. Over the years, we have hosted more than 50 workshops, covering a range of topics such as:

Mindfulness and meditation sessions with Geshe Ngawang la
Creative workshops in art, design, leadership and entrepreneurship
Building Community Connections
Nineteen59 has actively participated in community events across Toronto and New York, this allows us to engage in conversations that strengthen our collective voice.
